Instructions
- Peel and chop the apples, then mix with bourbon, spices, brown sugar, and butter in a bowl.
- Let the pie crusts thaw slightly.
- In a pot, combine the apple mixture on medium heat until softened, about 10-15 minutes.
- Roll out the pie dough into a pregreased skillet or pie pan.
- Add the apple mixture to the pie dough.
- Heat the caramel or dulce de leche to soften, then pour over the apple mixture.
- Cover with the second pie crust, seal edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Prepare an egg wash with egg and water, then coat the pie crust.
- Bake at 375°F for about 30 minutes or until the crust is browned and filling is bubbly.
- Serve with extra caramel drizzle and optional ice cream.
