Salted Caramel Apple Pie

Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust according to the recipe instructions.
- If using homemade salted caramel, make it now to cool while the dough chills.
- In a large bowl, combine apple slices, sugar, lemon juice, flour, cinnamon, allspice/cloves, and nutmeg.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).
- Roll out one disc of chilled dough and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.
- Fill the crust with the apple mixture and drizzle with ½ cup of salted caramel.
- Roll out the second disc of dough and cut into strips to create a lattice top over the filling.
- Brush the top crust with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if desired.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 375°F (190°C) and continue baking for 35–40 minutes until bubbling.
- Cool the pie for at least 3 hours before slicing and serving with additional salted caramel.
