Instructions
- Prepare the pie crust and chill it for at least 2 hours.
- Make the apple filling by mixing cornstarch and warm water, then cooking diced apple pieces with cinnamon and sugar until thick and bubbly.
- Roll out the chilled pie dough and cut it into strips.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (191°C).
- Core the apples and fill them with the prepared apple filling.
- Weave the pie dough strips over the apples to create a lattice crust.
- Brush the tops with an egg wash and sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust is browned and the filling is bubbly.
- Drizzle with salted caramel before serving.
