Four Cheese Ravioli with Homemade Marinara Sauce

Ingredients

The ravioli

  • 20 oz package of Buitoni Four Cheese Ravioli

The marinara sauce

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 28 oz can of San Marazano Tomatoes, crushed
  • 15 oz can of fire roasted tomatoes, diced
  • to taste salt & pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon dry oregano
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chiffoned

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of water, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ravioli, and cook until al dente (about 7-9 minutes).
  2. In a medium sauté pan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sauté onions for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add garlic and tomato paste to the onions and sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper, and bring to a simmer for about 4 minutes.
  5. Add fresh basil, stir, and cook for 1 more minute.
  6. Drain the ravioli and serve with the marinara sauce on top.
