Instructions
- Prepare the fudge sauce by combining sugar and cocoa powder in a bowl and setting it aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, then whisk in milk and the sugar-cocoa mixture until it thickens.
- Remove from heat and whisk in optional vanilla extract, allowing it to cool slightly.
- In a blender, combine ice cream, milk, and 3 tablespoons of the fudge sauce, then blend until smooth.
- Pour the milkshake into a glass, top with whipped cream if desired, and drizzle with remaining fudge sauce.
