Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare your ingredients.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until it resembles small peas, then add the toasted pecans.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the sour cream, half and half, maple syrup, and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients, adding cream as needed until the mixture holds together.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface, knead gently, and shape into a disk or rectangle.
- Cut the dough into 8-12 equal pieces and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake until golden and puffed, checking for an internal temperature of 200°F.
- While baking, prepare the maple glaze by heating maple syrup and whisking in powdered sugar until smooth.
- Once scones are done, let them cool for 15-20 minutes before drizzling the glaze over them.
