Ingredients

The mushrooms

  • 18 pieces Medium Mushrooms

The filling

  • 6 Tablespoons Butter, divided
  • 4 cloves Garlic, pressed or grated
  • 3 Tablespoons Panko Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese, grated
  • 2 pinches Kosher Salt
  • 1 pinch Pepper
  • 2 dashes Hot Sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Clean the mushrooms and remove the stems, setting the stems aside.
  3. Finely chop the mushroom stems or use a mini food processor.
  4. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 4 tablespoons of butter and garlic, and microwave until the butter is soft.
  5. Stir in the Panko bread crumbs into the butter mixture.
  6. Add the chopped mushroom stems, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and hot sauce to the mixture and combine well.
  7. In a cast iron frying pan or oven-safe dish, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter in the oven.
  8. Arrange the mushrooms stem side up in the pan and fill them with the mixture.
  9. Bake for 25 minutes, basting with the melted butter halfway through.
  10. Remove from the oven and serve hot or at room temperature.
