Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 17.5 oz. shelf-stable potato gnocchi
  • cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp. Diamond Crystal kosher salt
  • ½ tsp. Morton kosher salt
  • ½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes
  • ½ tsp. freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 whole lemons
  • 12 oz. bulk spicy Italian sausage
  • 1 medium bunch broccoli rabe
  • optional finely grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and prepare a baking sheet.
  2. Combine sliced onion, grated garlic, gnocchi, olive oil, salt, red pepper flakes, and black pepper on the baking sheet.
  3. Zest the lemons over the mixture and add crumbled sausage to the sheet.
  4. Bake for 35–45 minutes, tossing halfway through.
  5. Add broccoli rabe to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 6–10 minutes until tender.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges and top with Parmesan if desired.
