Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and prepare a baking pan.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar together, then add eggs and vanilla.
- Mix in the sour cream, then alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk until combined.
- Spread the batter in the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan while preparing the frosting.
- Beat the butter for the frosting until creamy, then mix in the sugar and cocoa.
- Add milk, corn syrup, vanilla, and salt to the frosting and mix until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cake and add sprinkles if desired.
