Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking pan.
- Mix the dry ingredients for the cake in a medium bowl.
- Combine cocoa powder, oil, and hot water in a large bowl until dissolved, then add eggs, buttermilk, salt, and vanilla.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients until smooth, then pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until done, then cool the cake.
- Prepare the frosting by browning butter and mixing with milk powder, then add cream and cool.
- Beat the remaining butter, salt, and vanilla, then gradually add powdered sugar and the brown butter mixture until fluffy.
- Frost the cooled cake and add optional toppings.
