Instructions
- Pat dry the steak and season with salt, pepper, and Cajun seasoning.
- Combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder in a bowl.
- Coat the steak with the seasoned flour and shake off excess.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak until golden brown, about 6-7 minutes per side.
- Remove the beef and set aside on a plate.
- In the same skillet, sauté onions for 2-3 minutes, then add garlic, thyme, oregano, and bay leaf, cooking for 3-5 more minutes.
- Add tomato puree, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, beef, and 1-2 cups of water. Cover and simmer for about 45 minutes.
- Add bell pepper and continue cooking until the meat is tender.
- Serve warm, spooning the sauce over the steak.
