Ingredients

The Rolls

  • 2 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet Platinum Yeast or any instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 and 1/2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large egg

The Filling

  • 1 and 1/3 cups frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

The Sweet Lemon Glaze

  • juice from 1 large lemon
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1–2 Tablespoons milk, half-and-half, or heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling by combining frozen blueberries, sugar, and cornstarch in a bowl and letting it sit.
  2. Make the dough by mixing the remaining flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl.
  3. Heat water, milk, and butter until melted and hot, then stir into the flour mixture along with the egg.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5-6 minutes until elastic, then let it rest for 10 minutes.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the blueberry filling, and roll tightly.
  6. Cut the roll into pieces and place them in a greased pan, then cover and let rise in a warm place for 2-3 hours.
  7. Preheat the oven and bake the rolls until lightly browned.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together the glaze ingredients and pour over the rolls before serving.
