Baked Smoked Bacon Gouda Mac and Cheese

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Boil salted water in a large pot and cook the macaroni for about 5 minutes.
- Drain the macaroni and rinse it with cold water to stop the cooking process.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, then whisk in the flour to create a slurry.
- Add milk to the slurry and stir, then mix in half of the cheese until melted.
- Season the mixture and taste for seasoning.
- Combine the pasta with the cheese sauce in a large pot.
- Layer the pasta and cheese mixture in a baking pan, adding bacon and breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Cool slightly before serving.
