Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 8 ounces white button mushrooms, sliced
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ cup milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • to taste salt
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until foaming.
  2. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until they release most of their liquid, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Stir in chicken broth, onion powder, and garlic powder, then bring to a simmer.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together milk and flour.
  5. Stir in the milk mixture and cook until the soup has thickened, about 1 minute.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
