Ingredients

  • cup light or dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • a pinch kosher salt

Maple cream cheese glaze

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast in lukewarm milk with sugar and let it sit until foamy.
  2. Whisk together flour, pumpkin pie spice, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Mix pumpkin, sugar, and egg into the yeast mixture, then add the flour mixture.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, then place it in a greased bowl to rise.
  5. Make the filling by mixing butter, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling, and roll it up.
  7. Cut the rolled dough into slices and place them in a baking dish to rise again.
  8. Preheat the oven and bake the rolls until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the glaze by mixing butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, vanilla, salt, and heavy cream until fluffy.
