Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • cup granulated sugar
  • tablespoons Platinum Yeast from Red Star
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • cups all-purpose flour or bread flour

Filling

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Maple Icing

  • cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by whisking warm milk, sugar, and yeast together, then let it sit until foamy.
  2. Beat in the remaining sugar and softened butter, then add eggs and salt.
  3. Gradually add flour until the dough comes together and pulls away from the bowl.
  4. Knead the dough until soft and slightly tacky, then let it rise until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and prepare the filling by mixing butter, maple syrup, sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Spread the filling over the dough, roll it up tightly, and cut into rolls.
  7. Let the rolls rise until puffy, then preheat the oven.
  8. Bake the rolls until lightly browned, then prepare the icing.
  9. Drizzle icing over warm rolls and serve.
