Ingredients

Dough

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 large egg

Filling

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 ounces full-fat cream cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan until warm and butter is melted.
  3. Dissolve yeast in the warm milk mixture.
  4. Mix the yeast mixture, egg, and dry ingredients in a stand mixer until a soft dough forms.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3-5 minutes.
  7. Roll the dough into a 14x8-inch rectangle.
  8. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  9. Roll the dough into a log and cut into 10-12 rolls.
  10. Place rolls in a greased pan and let rise for 60-90 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake rolls for 24-28 minutes.
  12. Cool the rolls on a wire rack.
  13. Prepare the frosting by whipping cream cheese and butter, then adding sugar and vanilla.
  14. Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.
