Homemade Cinnamon Rolls

Instructions
- Sprinkle yeast over warm milk and let it stand until foamy.
- Add sugar, egg, melted butter, and cardamom to the yeast mixture and stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, mix salt into flour and gradually add to the wet mixture, incorporating well.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Divide the dough in half and roll each piece into a rectangle.
- Spread half of the softened butter on one rectangle, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and roll tightly.
- Cut the roll into 12 equal slices and place them in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
- Cover the rolls and let them rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C) and brush the rolls with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
- For the icing, whisk together powdered sugar, buttermilk, salt, and vanilla until smooth.
- Spread icing on warm rolls before serving.
