Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare the cake pans.
- Microwave the strawberries until soft, then strain to obtain the juice.
- Reduce the strawberry juice over heat until syrupy.
- Mix the strawberry juice, milk, egg whites, and vanilla in a bowl.
- In a stand mixer, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, then add butter until crumbly.
- Add half of the strawberry mixture and mix until fluffy, then add the remaining mixture.
- Divide the batter between the prepared pans and bake until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool the cakes for 10 minutes in the pans, then remove and cool completely.
- Level the cakes and frost between layers and on the outside.
- Decorate with conversation hearts and serve.
