Turmeric Chicken

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 8 oz skinless and boneless chicken meat, breast or thigh, cut into strips

The marinade

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoons oyster sauce

The stir-fry

  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • ½ onion sliced
  • 1 red chili deseeded and cut into thick strips
  • 2 oz French bean, cut into 2-inch strips
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • ½ teaspoon sugar
  • to taste salt

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken with turmeric powder and oyster sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat up a wok and add the oil, then stir-fry the onion until aromatic.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the wok and stir quickly a few times.
  4. Incorporate the red chili and French beans, stirring well to combine.
  5. Add water to the wok and continue cooking the chicken.
  6. Stir in the sugar and salt to taste, and continue stirring until the chicken is cooked through.
  7. Dish out and serve immediately with steamed rice.
