Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper or foil.
- Place the mushroom caps on the sheet pan, open side up, and set aside.
- Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove and set aside, leaving grease in the skillet.
- Sauté minced garlic in the skillet until fragrant.
- Add ground sausage to the skillet and cook until browned, then drain excess grease.
- Stir in cream cheese, parsley, ¼ cup mozzarella, and ¼ cup parmesan until smooth.
- Chop or crumble the cooked bacon and mix it into the sausage mixture.
- Spoon the filling into the mushroom caps, filling them generously.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella, pressing it into the filling.
- Bake for 10 minutes until cheese is golden, then cover with foil and bake for another 10 minutes until mushrooms are soft.
