Ingredients

The marinade

  • ΒΌ cup soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 Tbsp cooking oil, divided

The chicken

  • 1.75 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by mixing soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a bowl.
  2. Place the chicken in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it's well coated. Marinate for 30 minutes to 1 day in the refrigerator.
  3. Heat the remaining 1 Tbsp of cooking oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, discarding the used marinade, and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a cutting board to rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
