Ingredients

The chicken

  • 4-5 pieces boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper

The marinade

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon minced ginger
  • 2 pieces green onions, thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup olive oil, divided

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, green onions, and olive oil.
  3. Combine the marinade with the chicken and let it marinate for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. For stovetop method, heat oil in a skillet and sear the marinated chicken until golden on both sides.
  5. Add the marinade to the skillet and cook until the sauce thickens.
  6. For grilled method, preheat the grill and cook the marinated chicken until charred and cooked through.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
