Ingredients

Ice Cream

  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • ¼ cup butterscotch sauce or caramel
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chopped Reese's

Pretzels

  • cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • teaspoons sea salt or kosher salt
  • 4½ to 5 cups all-purpose flour
  • cup baking soda
  • 1 whole egg, beaten
  • coarse to taste sea salt

Hot Fudge Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • cup heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 3 ounces milk chocolate, chopped
  • 3 ounces bittersweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small cubes
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Line a 9x13 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  3. Stir together the sweetened condensed milk, butterscotch sauce, melted peanut butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Fold in the chopped Reese's and pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, then freeze overnight.
  5. Combine warm water, sugar, yeast, and melted butter in a stand mixer and let sit for 5 minutes.
  6. Add salt and flour, mixing until combined, then knead until smooth.
  7. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  8. Preheat the oven to 425°F and bring water to a boil.
  9. Shape the dough into pretzels, boil in baking soda water for 30 seconds, then bake for 10 to 15 minutes until golden.
  10. For the hot fudge, combine cocoa powder, brown sugar, honey, cream, salt, and half the chopped chocolate in a saucepan and heat until melted.
  11. Stir in remaining chocolate, butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Assemble the sandwiches by slicing pretzels, adding ice cream, and drizzling with hot fudge.
