Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and salt, then stir in melted butter to form a soft dough.
- Press the dough into the prepared pan and bake for 10-12 minutes until set, then cool completely.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and cream, heating in 1-minute intervals until smooth.
- Spread the caramel over the cooled shortbread layer, or mix pretzels into the caramel and dollop it on top.
- In another bowl, mix peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until creamy, then spread over the caramel layer.
- For the ganache, heat cream until just below simmering, pour over chocolate chips, let sit, then stir until smooth.
- Spread the ganache over the peanut butter layer and refrigerate until set, at least 20 minutes.
