Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300°F and grease two 9-inch cake pans.
- Cream together the butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla in a mixer.
- In a food processor, combine 1 cup of flour and the chocolate chips, processing until the chocolate is chopped into small pieces.
- Mix the remaining 1 ⅓ cups of flour and the chocolate mixture with the butter mixture until well combined.
- Divide the dough in half and press it into the prepared cake pans evenly, smoothing the surface and pricking it with a fork.
- Bake for 40 minutes until golden brown on the edges, then loosen the edges with a knife.
- Wait five minutes, then carefully transfer the shortbread to a clean surface.
- Cut into wedges while still warm and transfer to a cooling rack.
