Easy Greek Tiropita

Ingredients

The filling

  • 4 slices feta cheese

The pastry

  • 8 sheets phyllo dough
  • ½ cup butter

For garnish

  • to taste sesame seeds
  • to taste honey
  • to taste fresh thyme or oregano
  • to taste chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Thaw the phyllo dough in the fridge the night before.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter and set it aside, or use olive oil as an alternative.
  4. Keep the phyllo dough moist by covering it with a damp cloth.
  5. Layer two sheets of phyllo dough on a flat surface and brush with melted butter or olive oil.
  6. Place a slice of feta on the phyllo and wrap it up into a package.
  7. Repeat the wrapping process to create four packages in total.
  8. Brush the tops of the packages with more melted butter or olive oil.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  10. Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and garnish with herbs and chili flakes before serving.
