Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and grease 12 muffin tins or line them with baking cups.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ⅓ cup of sliced almonds.
- In a separate large bowl, whisk together the milk, almond extract, oil, and beaten egg.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Fill the muffin cups about ⅔ full and sprinkle a pinch of sliced almonds on top, pressing them lightly into the batter.
- Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
