Easy Lemon Rice

lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

ground turmeric (optional for color)
Instructions
- Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and add olive oil and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
- Stir in the basmati rice and lemon zest, and sauté for an additional minute.
- Add water, lemon juice, salt, and optional turmeric, stirring well and bringing to a boil.
- Once boiling, cover, reduce heat to low, and cook for 15-20 minutes until the rice is tender and liquid is absorbed.
- Turn off the heat and let the rice rest for a minute before fluffing with a fork and serving.
