Lemon Garlic Herb Rice

The rice

The flavorings

coarsely ground black pepper

chopped fresh Italian herbs (basil, rosemary, thyme, oregano)

Juice and zest of

large lemon or 2 small lemons
Instructions
- Combine the rice, water, and garlic in a large pot or skillet.
- Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce heat to low, cooking for 20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the butter, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Toss in the herbs and transfer to a serving dish.
- Top with freshly grated lemon rind and additional salt and pepper if desired.
