Instructions
- Combine the rice, garlic powder, thyme, crushed red pepper, salt, and water in a heavy-bottomed pot.
- Stir briefly to evenly distribute the ingredients.
- Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 40 minutes.
- After 40 minutes, turn off the heat and let it rest with the lid on for an additional 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice and serve, or refrigerate until ready to eat.
