Ingredients

The rice

  • 2 cups uncooked long grain white rice
  • 3⅓-3½ cups chicken broth or water

The seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons bouillon
  • ¼-½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

The fat

  • 4 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a large pot and stir well.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. Once boiling, cover and reduce heat to low.
  4. Simmer for 18-20 minutes until all liquid is absorbed.
  5. Let the rice rest for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork and serve.
