Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare the cake pans with grease and parchment paper.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients in a bowl.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy, then add oil, eggs, and vanilla.
- Incorporate the dry ingredients and buttermilk in three additions, mixing gently.
- Fold in the rainbow sprinkles and divide the batter into the prepared pans.
- Bake the cakes until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool in the pans.
- Make the frosting by beating the butter and gradually adding the sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt.
- Level the cakes and assemble them with frosting between layers and around the sides.
- Chill the cake to set the crumb coat, then apply the final layer of frosting and garnish.
- Serve or store the cake appropriately.
