Baked Chicken Lollipop

Ingredients

The chicken

  • 10 pieces chicken drumettes

Hoisin-Ginger Marinade

  • 2 inches ginger, peeled and minced
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and minced
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • ½ tablespoon mild chili sauce (optional)
  • ½ tablespoon soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon honey or sugar
  • ½ tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Cut the skin and tendons around the base of each drumette and push the meat down to form a lollipop shape.
  2. In a bowl, combine the marinade ingredients and coat the chicken drumettes well. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C). Arrange the drumettes on a wire rack over a baking pan.
  4. Bake for about 35 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. Serve with your choice of dipping sauce or enjoy them plain.
