Ginger Garlic Baked Chicken

Ingredients

The chicken

  • lbs chicken drumsticks

The marinade

  • 1 piece ginger, peeled and chopped (2-inch/5cm)
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • tablespoons soy sauce
  • ½ tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 dashes white pepper
  • 1 pinch Chinese five-spice powder (optional)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the chicken and pat it dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub ginger and garlic into the chicken.
  3. Add the remaining marinade ingredients and mix well to coat the chicken.
  4. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the fridge.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Arrange the marinated chicken on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve warm.
