Instructions
- Cook the pasta and broccoli in salted water until al dente.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
- Melt butter in a skillet, add onion and cook until soft.
- Stir in flour and cook until golden, then add milk and chicken broth, whisking until thick.
- Remove from heat and mix in cheese until melted, then season with salt and pepper.
- Combine the cooked macaroni and broccoli with the cheese sauce and pour into the baking dish.
- Top with grated cheese and breadcrumbs, then spray with cooking spray.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, then broil briefly to brown the topping.
