Ingredients

The pork

  • 1 large Pork Shoulder
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 large Orange, sliced
  • 2 tbsp Coconut water
  • 1 pack Sunshine State of Mind Craft BBQ Rub

The sliders

  • 12 rolls Hawaiian Buns
  • 1 medium Onion, caramelized
  • to taste Pickles
  • to taste Carolina Mustard BBQ Sauce

Instructions

  1. Remove the skin and excess fat from the pork shoulder.
  2. Score the meat to help the rub penetrate.
  3. Coat the pork with olive oil and apply the BBQ rub evenly.
  4. Smoke the pork at 265°F until it reaches an internal temperature of 150°F.
  5. Wrap the pork in butcher paper with coconut water and butter, then add orange slices.
  6. Continue smoking until the internal temperature reaches 203°F.
  7. Caramelize onions in butter while the pork is smoking.
  8. Once done, pull the pork and chop it for sliders.
  9. Prepare sliders by layering pork, mustard BBQ sauce, provolone cheese, caramelized onions, and pickles on Hawaiian buns.
  10. Butter the buns, sprinkle with seasoning, and bake until the cheese melts.
