Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Melt and brown the butter in an oven-safe skillet, then add pears, sugars, vanilla, cinnamon, and almond extract, mixing well.
- Bake the mixture for 10-12 minutes until bubbly.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, almond meal, 2 tablespoons of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Whisk in milk and melted butter until slightly lumpy.
- Spoon the batter over the filling and sprinkle with remaining sugar.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Optionally, broil for 2-3 minutes for a crispy topping.
- Allow to cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream.
