Basic Blueberry Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk or water
  • 1 ½ cups frozen blueberries
  • 1 ½ cups frozen bananas
  • ¼ cup almond butter
  • ¼ cup old-fashioned oats (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons flax seed (optional)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend on low until the mixture thickens, then increase to the highest speed.
  3. Stop to scrape down the sides or add more milk if necessary.
  4. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
  5. Taste and add maple syrup if desired.
  6. Divide the smoothie into 2 glasses and serve immediately.
