Caprese Skewers

Ingredients

The skewers

  • 10 oz Grape tomatoes
  • 5 slices Cooked bacon
  • ½ oz Fresh basil
  • 10 oz Fresh mozzarella balls
  • 30 Toothpicks

The sauce

  • ¼ cup Basil pesto
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Balsamic glaze
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Skewer the tomatoes, bacon pieces (if using), fresh basil leaves, and mozzarella balls onto the toothpicks, in that order.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the pesto and olive oil, adjusting the consistency as needed.
  3. Drizzle the pesto sauce over the skewers, then add the balsamic glaze.
  4. Top with fresh cracked black pepper, if desired.
