Ingredients

The Grapefruit

  • 2 large grapefruits

The Topping

  • Tbsp light brown or turbinado sugar
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to broil at 500° if temperature options are available.
  2. For ramekin preparation, slice grapefruits in half and trim away the rind and pith.
  3. Cut the grapefruit into small bite-sized pieces and place them in ramekins.
  4. Mix sugar and spices, then sprinkle evenly on top of the grapefruit.
  5. Place the ramekins in the oven about 3 inches under the broiler and cook for about 5 minutes, watching for bubbling or charring.
  6. For whole grapefruit, slice them in half crosswise and sprinkle the sugar and spice mixture on top.
  7. Broil the whole grapefruit for about 5 minutes, watching closely.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
