Ingredients

Broiled Grapefruits

  • 3 pieces grapefruits
  • 6 tablespoons raw sugar or brown sugar
  • a sprinkle ground ginger
  • a sprinkle ground cinnamon
  • a dash sea salt

For Serving

  • to taste Greek yogurt or thick goat’s yogurt
  • for drizzling honey
  • a few handfuls granola

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the broiler and prepare the grapefruits by slicing off the ends to create a flat base.
  2. 2. Cut each grapefruit in half and place them face-down on paper towels to absorb excess moisture for about five minutes.
  3. 3. In a bowl, mix the sugar with ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. 4. Place the grapefruit halves face-up on a baking sheet and sprinkle the sugar mixture generously on top.
  5. 5. Broil the grapefruits for 7 to 10 minutes until the sugar melts and turns amber.
  6. 6. Allow the grapefruits to cool slightly, then serve warm or at room temperature with yogurt, honey, and granola.
