Ingredients

The cookie dough

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • teaspoon salt

For decoration

  • to taste sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
  2. Mix in the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt until just combined.
  3. Cover the dough and chill for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours, until firm.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  5. Divide the dough into 6 equal balls, roll them in sprinkles, and place them on the baking sheet with space between each.
  6. Gently flatten each ball to about ¾ inch thick.
  7. Bake for 11 to 14 minutes until the cookies are set.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheet.
