Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons packed light or dark brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons beaten egg
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tablespoons natural unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 Tablespoon semi-sweet chocolate chips (for topping)
  • 2 teaspoons sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  2. Stir in the beaten egg and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients and fold in ¼ cup of chocolate chips.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C) and refrigerate the dough for a few minutes.
  6. Shape the dough into a mound on a lined baking sheet and dot with the remaining chocolate chips.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes until the edges are set.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before enjoying.
