Ingredients

The cake

  • 1⅓ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup full-fat sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ¾ teaspoon almond extract
  • cups fresh cherries

The crumb topping

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and grease the baking pan.
  2. Prepare the batter by whisking dry ingredients and mixing wet ingredients until creamy.
  3. Combine the dry and wet ingredients, then fold in the cherries.
  4. Make the crumb topping by mixing flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  5. Spread the batter in the pan and sprinkle the crumb topping on top.
  6. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean, then cool before slicing.
