Spinach Artichoke Dip in a Bread Bowl

small sourdough or round bread loaf
Instructions
- 1. Warm olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat, then add shallots and cook until soft.
- 2. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, then add artichokes and cook for 3 minutes.
- 3. Lower heat and add spinach, cooking until wilted.
- 4. Stir in milk, then add cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise one by one, mixing well after each addition.
- 5. Add romano cheese, black pepper, and hot sauce if using, and stir to combine.
- 6. Turn on the oven to low broil.
- 7. Cut a large hole out of the center of the bread loaf to create a bowl.
- 8. Pour the dip into the bread bowl and broil for about 5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and browned.
- 9. Serve hot with the cut-out bread and other dipping options.
