Instructions
- Blend the onion, garlic, and ginger with two tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a large pot and add the cinnamon, bay leaf, cardamom, and cloves until sizzling. Then add the onion paste and sauté for five minutes.
- Add the tomatoes and cook for another five minutes, stirring occasionally. Then mix in the spices.
- Add the chickpeas and water, cover the pot, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
