Ingredients

The stuffing

  • 1 large Onion, chopped
  • 3 ribs Celery, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Rubbed Sage
  • 1 teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • 2 cups Turkey Broth (or chicken broth)
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 12-ounce package Stuffing Bread Cubes (herb seasoned)
  • 4 Tablespoons Fresh Parsley, minced
  • 1 small Tart Apple, chopped
  • 1 Egg

The cooking fat

  • ½ cup Unsalted Butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients.
  2. Melt the butter in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Sauté the onion and celery until softened.
  4. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, sage, and poultry seasoning, and stir.
  5. Add the broth and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms soften.
  6. Spray the slow cooker with cooking spray.
  7. In a large bowl, combine stuffing cubes, parsley, and apple.
  8. Pour the vegetable-broth mixture into the bowl and mix well.
  9. Push stuffing to the side, add the egg, whisk it, and mix into the stuffing.
  10. Transfer the stuffing to the slow cooker and smooth the top without packing it down.
  11. Cover and cook on Low for 3-4 hours, stirring once halfway through.
  12. Serve hot.
