Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a rimmed baking sheet with nonstick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla and beat until smooth.
- In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt, then add to the pumpkin mixture and beat until combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the frosting by melting butter, brown sugar, cream, and salt in a pot, then bring to a boil and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat, let cool slightly, then mix in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost the cake while it is still warm and garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
