Instructions
- Preheat the smoker to 225 degrees using mesquite or alder wood pellets.
- Rub the spices from the BBQ rub into the salmon to ensure flavor penetration.
- Place the salmon in the smoker, skin side down.
- Smoke the salmon for 40 minutes to 1 hour until it reaches an internal temperature of 135-145 degrees.
- For the optional honey BBQ glaze, combine honey, BBQ sauce, and lemon juice in a bowl and stir.
- Brush the glaze over the salmon when it reaches about 120 degrees, then continue smoking until it reaches the desired internal temperature.
